Pacific Coast Post Acute (PCPA) is a leading short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in beautiful Monterey County, just 30 minutes from the stunning Monterey Bay. Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will be a key member of our rehabilitation team, responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language services to residents. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, playing a crucial role in improving the quality of life for our residents by helping them regain their independence and communicative abilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and goals.
- Provide skilled therapeutic interventions for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Manage and treat dysphagia (swallowing disorders), including providing appropriate therapy and recommending diet modifications.
- Document resident progress accurately and in a timely manner, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies and compensatory techniques.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in program development and departmental meetings.
Qualifications
- Current state licensure or in the process of obtaining appropriate state licensure.
