Sales Director - Western Region

Location: Western U.S. (Remote with Travel)
Reports to: Vice President & GM

Position Summary

The Sales Director for the Western Region is a critical leadership role focused on driving growth and expanding Gibraltar's footprint across a high-potential territory in the West. This position leads a diverse team of business development representatives, territory managers, sales managers, and local operational leaders at smaller manufacturing and distribution sites throughout the western United States.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and strategic leader who can operate with an ownership mindset, build strong customer and contractor relationships, and inspire cross-functional alignment to deliver consistent growth and profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own and grow the business across the Western Region-driving sales, profitability, and operational alignment.
  • Lead a geographically dispersed team of:
    • Business Development Representatives
    • Territory Sales Managers
    • Regional Sales Managers
    • Site Managers at local manufacturing and/or distribution facilities
  • Develop and execute regional go-to-market strategies and contractor pull-through initiatives to expand market share.
  • Build deep relationships with contractors and distributors, creating brand loyalty and trusted partnerships.
  • Provide leadership coaching, development, and performance management for all direct reports.
  • Drive accountability for sales goals, profit expansion, and customer engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain partners to ensure efficient execution at local sites.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and lead market penetration efforts across new or underdeveloped geographies and channels.
  • Track regional performance, provide regular forecasts, and adjust plans to meet or exceed targets.
  • Manage regional expense budgets, promotional initiatives, and personnel matters.
  • Serve as a voice of the region, sharing market insights and competitive intelligence with senior leadership.
  • Travel up to 85% across the Western Region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in sales, preferably in the building materials or construction products industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-level teams across both sales and operations.
  • Experience expanding business in new or underpenetrated markets preferred.
