Job Summary:

Orchard Post Acute, a premier skilled nursing facility in Fresno, CA, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The ADON will support the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the daily clinical operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. This role involves providing leadership, clinical expertise, and assisting in the management and development of nursing staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to promoting a positive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Director of Nursing (DON): Assist the DON in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of the nursing department to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to residents.
  • Clinical Oversight: Provide direct oversight and support to the nursing staff, including supervising resident care, conducting rounds, and addressing any clinical issues or concerns.
  • Staff Management and Development: Assist with the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to foster a positive work environment and enhance staff performance.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Orchard Post Acute's policies and procedures. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery.
  • Resident and Family Relations: Serve as a liaison for residents and their families, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring resident satisfaction.
  • Care Planning and Coordination: Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Emergency and Crisis Management: Assist in managing clinical emergencies and ensure proper documentation and follow-up actions are taken.
  • Policy and Procedure Implementation: Assist in creating, reviewing, and updating nursing policies and procedures to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Current, active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of California.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, residents, and families.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to skilled nursing facilities, including Title 22 and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
