Description:

  • Primary Responsibility:
  • Leads a team of welders and material handlers in safety, quality, and production
  • Will lead a team of 4-5 employees
  • Ensure a safe work area for the team. They are expected to model safe behaviors and
  • coach their team members as needed. Report all near miss, first aid, injuries, etc. STOP THINK ACT
  • Lead monitors production flow, troubleshoot issues and recommend line balancing improvements
  • Responsible for the quality of work produced by his/her team. Expected to address issues real time, always coaching, not criticizing. Following up with your internal customer to ensure satisfaction.
  • Accountable for the productivity. Productivity numbers will be determined by the manager in partnership with the lead based off time studies. Right the first time... we go faster by going slower
  • Working lead must be able to perform all the tasks asked of his or her team
  • Expected to role model behaviors according to the handbook. Leaders are expected to be on time and stay if necessary to complete job. They are further expected to be on time going/ returning from
    breaks and lunch. We as leaders model the behaviors we want!
  • Should spend part of the workday, coaching, inspecting, verifying material, managing the pace of the projects, making adjustments, and celebrating the wins. The remaining time should be spent on the welding and grinding along with the team
  • Reports to the Service Center Manager. All communication is expected to go through the Manager. If you need material, contact the manager

  • Use of general hand tools and power tools
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Welding certificate required
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams and schematics
  • Receiving/shipping experience preferred
  • Efficient in Microsoft office suite (word, excel, outlook)
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience with operating a forklift
  • Ability to oversee workplace performance
  • Safety forward thinking
  • Ability to stand/bend/kneel for long periods of time
