Job Summary:

The Infection Preventionist (LVN) is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the facility's infection prevention and control program in accordance with CDC, CDPH, and CMS guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention and control policies and procedures
• Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, tracking, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (CDC, CDPH, CMS)
• Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices
• Perform audits, rounds, and risk assessments
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams
• Lead outbreak investigations and response efforts

Qualifications:

• Active California LVN license (required)
• Experience in infection prevention, skilled nursing, or post-acute care preferred
• Knowledge of infection control standards and regulations
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Preferred:

• Infection Preventionist training or certification (IP, CIC, or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience in a leadership or quality role
