In Fremont, California, we serve global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing innovative optical components & modules to support our customer's next generation networks.
We are looking for a full-time Assistant Engineer to work on optical component testing with lab equipment, fiber optical module assembly and optoelectronic system optimization by implementing engineer's protocol . This person will be working hands on with testing, alignment, assembling optomechanical fixtures and implementing DOE experiments to validate improvements of optical testing methods.
What You Will Do- Build optical modules, perform optical alignment, data collection and analysis.
- Perform optical module testing and calibration by implementing engineer's protocol
- Perform various DOE experiments to validate optical assembly process
- Perform hands-on optical fiber assembly and optomechanical fixture development to perform fiber product testing and calibration
- Perform failure analysis and troubleshooting for optical modules
- Work with engineers to develop and document process flow
Who You Are- Technical degree diploma or equivalent in Engineering or Physics
- At least 3 years of hands-on optical testing and assembly experience
- Familiar with knowledge of optical components and optical testing equipment
- Hands-on capability supporting optical alignment and fiber assembly
- Proficient with Microsoft Office to perform data collection, analysis and documentation
What Puts You Ahead- Senior-level technician with 6 plus years hands-on experience in optical alignment setup, optical testing and assembly process
- Experience with optical fiber bundle assembly and routing process would be a plus for this position
- Experience with optical alignment by using cameras, optical lens, beam profiler, and photodetector
- Verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Strong capability to work independently, diagnose engineering problems and resolve with minimum guidance
For this role, we anticipate paying $80, 000 to $100, 000 plus per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
