Job Overview: Linde Gases US, a division of Linde, is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician. This position will be based out of the Linde Air Separation facility located in Wilmington, CA and will also support the Long Beach, CA and El Segundo, CA Liquid CO2 production facilities.This position reports to the Southern California Production Superintendent. Primary Responsibilities: - This position requires the ability to work independently and with a team to perform a wide variety of skilled mechanic duties: to install, troubleshoot, repair mechanical equipment and facilities following SMP/SOP's within an ISO/QA/PSM/RMP site. - Uses a wide variety of hand, power, and machine tools to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical equipment and systems. Includes disassembly/assembly of rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, etc. to repair/replace bearings, gears, seals, structural components and the like. - Ability to read and understand blueprints. Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems. - Specific responsibilities include: Safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, boiler systems, valves, and ability to perform equipment alignments. - Utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), plan and execute maintenance activities including procurement of parts, supervision of maintenance tasks, and completion of all follow up required documentation. - Complete some repairs of mechanical piping systems including threaded and welded pipe systems. - Complete and document maintenance activities associated with predictive and corrective maintenance activities. Excellent computer skills required. Welding experience a plus. On-Call ability required within 24/7 operation environment. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma required - 2-5 years of experience in the following fields: - Journeyman millwright/machinist - General maintenance of industrial equipment - Compressor maintenance - Industrial mechanical maintenance - On Call ability within 24/7 operation environment - Dependable and honest - Safety commitment and compliance with procedures - Safe driving - Competency with Computers, Microsoft applications, and process control computer systems - Trouble shooting and diagnostics - Use of calibration devices and data collectors - Process understanding, process control schematic interpretation - Maintenance and compliance documentation - Communications, both verbal and written - Quality controls - Organization and time management - Safe Work Planning - Self-directed learning The Maintenance Technician must be able to sit, stand, climb, walk, read, talk, see and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job. Additional activities for this job are: - Drive a service (pickup) truck up to 2 or 3 hours per day and up to 8 hours on occasion. - Perform office work requiring computer work and other administration duties 1 or 2 hours per day. - Walking on flat or uneven surfaces and in areas of crushed stone on a daily basis. - Bending, stooping, and working from just above the ground to 6 foot elevation. - Use of stairs, ladders, and scaffolding for elevated work. - Lifting 5 to 15 LBs loads performed daily. - Lifting 15 to 45 LBs loads intermittently. - Lifting 45 to 75 LBs loads occasionally. - Use of air purifying full face respirator occasionally. - Upper body work activities, including using wrenches, hammers, and similar hand tools. - Use of power tools such as drill and saws. - Use of fingers/fine manipulation (such as equipment calibration). - Use of chemical personal protective equipment (PPE). - Shift schedule requiring weekend and/or nighttime shifts. Working extended hours and/or holidays may be required.
