Description:

Night Operations Manager

As a Night Operations Manager in our facility, this individual is responsible for the end-to-end operations across all departments. Manages the development of team members by driving production improvement projects, plant safety initiatives, and cost performance programs. Accountable to and drives established Powder and Butter department strategies. Also responsible for providing tactical and decision-making support to the Sr. Operations Manager and core operations team members; ensuring optimal operational execution for the Tulare dairy facility. This position requires the ability to handle information and documents professionally and confidentially.

Hours/Shift: Night Shift - 11: 00pm - 9: 00 am (Sunday -Thursday); this role may require weekends or holidays, and on-call as needed.

Job Duties (Key Deliverables):
  • Meet at least weekly with night Supervisors and Sr. Supervisors to review production KPIs.
  • Coordinate cross functional team to improve efficiencies of the plant based on findings.
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership team to ensure and monitor proper operations support to meet or exceed annual scorecard and elevate and prioritize issues that need addressed.
  • Strong production floor presence.
  • Communicate effectively, timely, and professionally with co-workers, leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate data reaches all audiences.
  • Adapt well to changing priorities with a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Create and enhance professional relationships with upstream and downstream key stake holders to facilitate communication, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Maintain Plant Scorecard Dashboard.


Experience-Education (Required):
  • Bachelor's Degree OR in lieu of degree, 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in food processing/manufacturing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills


Competencies-Skills (Required):
  • Strategically plan, organize, and manage night operations regarding daily hours, schedules, productivity, quality and safety.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people & personalities.
  • Must be able to make quick decisions on the spot & support those decisions to your peers, employees, and plant leadership.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, manage multiple projects & multi-task with ease.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent follow through.
  • Results orientation with track record of successful achievements.
  • Active listening skills are a must.
  • Ability to influence a positive employee environment.
  • Ability to drive safety & safe behaviors while maintaining the goal of preventing all injuries.
  • Must be able to influence and drive change management.
  • LEAN / Six Sigma / TMM experience.
  • Participates in coaching and mentoring as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the team.
  • Experience with Unions including contraction administration, grievance procedures and investigations.


Experience-Education (Preferred):
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Dairy Manufacturing Experience
  • Milk Balancing experience desirable.


Competencies-Skills (Preferred):
  • High Speed Manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Continuous Improvement Processes and/or Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt.


Salary Range: $91, 120 - $136, 680
