Hourly Rate
$19.25Summary
Provides service and assistance to members, hotel guests and guests of the beach and pool area. Monitors and corrects any deficiency found in and around the beach, pool and Club grounds.Sets up, monitors, and maintains the beach and pool areas.
Delivers beach equipment as needed.
Assists with removing/taking down beach equipment and storing it at the end of the day as assigned by the Management team.
Provides quality service to members and guests that meets or exceeds expectations.
Takes ownership of member, hotel guests, and guests’ complaints and concerns; and ensures that they are resolved in a timely and efficient manner. Provides pass-down information if unable to complete request to appropriate persons.
Sets up BBQ’s, tables, chairs and umbrellas as directed.
Maintains towel inventory and beach guest registration logs to established standards.
Enforces Club policies and procedures.
Assists with trespassing violators or rule infractions, assists with ensuring that Club property (i.e. towels, etc.) do not leave the premises.
Properly records all guests of members and hotel guests on the Beach Registration Log. Ensure that it is turned in to the Beach Services Manager, at the close of the business day.
Assists in any and all responses to noise complaints within the duty area (i.e.: the beach, pool, etc.) and acts as directed by the Management team; also assists in ensuring that all parties on the beach are monitored for violations of our liquor license.
Properly requests needed supplies in a timely manner. Maintain par levels.
Observes and reports any unusual occurrences and safety hazards (i.e.: wet floors, fire hazards, leaking water pipes, unsafe equipment, etc.). Ensures that the proper departments are notified of the hazard and/or occurrence and informs the Management team via work order or Dispatcher.
Attends regularly scheduled department meetings.
Other duties may be assigned.

The cleanliness, safety, and security of the facilities will positively influence the guests and members perception of the total organization as friendly, helpful, professional and reliable. This perception will help maintain the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club standing as the premiere beach and tennis resort and club in San Diego.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The education and/or experience needed include a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) (unless attending high school); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, Guest Registration Log and Beach Party Reservation Request Form. Ability to speak English effectively to guests, members or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be outgoing and have ability to get along well with all types of individuals and people of all ages. Must possess a strong ability to multitask. Must have superior customer service skills and a positive and energetic attitude.

INTERACTION
Employees in this position have daily interaction with guests and members daily, as well as the following departments: Accounting, Membership, Front Desk, Executive Personnel, Engineering, Purchasing, Catering, Human Resources, Reservations, Group Sales, Housekeeping, Golf, and Massage Therapy.
SCHEDULING
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
