$20.00

Summary

The Host creates the first impression for Marine Room customers. The Host is essential in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the Marine Room by supervising and coordinating activities of the employees.

This position upholds and promotes LJBTC, Inc’s Signature Service standards to ensure an exceptional member and guest experience. The Host contributes to creating a lasting impression of exemplary service, resulting in highly satisfied and loyal members and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners following set procedures.

  • Arranges parties or special services for meals following the setup procedures.

  • Greets guests in a friendly and courteous manner, escorts them to tables, and provides menus.

  • Promptly answers all incoming calls and accurately handles reservations and message taking.

  • Assigns work stations and coordinates activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons.

  • Inspects dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and requisitions table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.

  • Delegates responsibility with follow-up to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness.

  • Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints.

  • Inspects “side work” (preparation and closing work) assignments to assure tasks are completed.

  • Assigns work to bar staff and expedites food orders.

  • Collects and processes payments from customers.

  • Totals receipts at the end of shift and collects server transactions. Verifies sales and clears cash register.

  • Responsible for opening/closing procedures of the Marine Room.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience at a restaurant preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization. Must communicate effectively in English.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

  • Abilit to constantly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

Must have and maintain current San Diego County Food Handlers card and be RBS certification.

Schedule & Hours:

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
