Shop & Purchasing Manager

Kodiak Roofing & Waterproofing is seeking a Shop & Purchasing Manager to lead our Shop Department and ensure our teams have the materials, equipment, resources, and operational support needed to succeed. This position oversees purchasing, inventory management, warehouse operations, ACM fabrication support, delivery operations, and fleet functions. The Shop & Purchasing Manager will lead supervisors and operational staff, build strong vendor partnerships, manage departmental costs, and continuously improve the systems and processes that support our field operations. What Youll Do Lead and oversee Shop Department operations, including purchasing, inventory, warehouse, fabrication support, delivery, and fleet functions.Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and operational team members while establishing clear expectations and accountability.Manage purchasing and procurement of materials, tools, equipment, consumables, and other operational resources.Develop strong vendor relationships, negotiate agreements, monitor supplier performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.Establish and maintain effective inventory controls, replenishment processes, and asset accountability.Partner with Operations, Project Management, and Field leadership to forecast material, equipment, labor, and fabrication needs.Manage departmental budgets, purchasing expenditures, and operational costs.Monitor department performance, workflows, quality, safety, and operational readiness.Conduct regular walkthroughs of the shop, warehouse, fabrication areas, fleet yard, and storage areas.Develop and improve procedures, workflows, and operational controls that increase efficiency, consistency, and accountability.Partner with Safety and Company leadership to maintain compliance with Company policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable regulations.Support process improvements, technology implementation, capital planning, and other strategic initiatives. What Were Looking For Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in shop operations, purchasing, inventory management, warehouse operations, construction operations, logistics, or a related field.Experience coordinating operational activities, materials and equipment, purchasing or vendor relationships, and leading or supervising employees.Commercial roofing, construction, or related trade experience is preferred but not required.Relevant education, technical training, certifications, or demonstrated internal experience may be considered in combination with experience.Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to safety, quality, cost, and operational efficiency.Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning Company software and inventory systems.Valid driver's license and ability to meet Company driver qualification standards. Work Environment This is a hands-on leadership position that works across office, warehouse, shop, fabrication, and outdoor yard environments. The position requires regular interaction with employees, supervisors, vendors, and operational leaders and occasional local travel to support business needs. Why Kodiak?
