Step into Your New Role We are seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Southern California Water Team. As a Water/Wastewater Engineer at Kleinfelder, you will help lead projects as a technical resource and mentor junior staff while gaining invaluable experience through a variety of water and wastewater projects. Many opportunities exist within Kleinfelder to diversify technical experience, build relationships, and work with professionals on a wide variety of projects all over the United States.
The candidate will contribute a multi-disciplinary perspective on water and wastewater projects. An entrepreneurial spirit with experience interacting with local agencies and clients is preferred. This position requires the ability to excel working in team environments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Production of design documents from basis of design through final design and technical specifications for water/wastewater processes, conveyance, capital improvement projects, municipal infrastructure design projects
- Bidding Services, Construction Services/Administration, Cost Estimating
- Condition assessment & field reconnaissance for pump stations, pipelines, process equipment and facilities
- Planning & infrastructure studies and asset management programs.
- Take initiative in collaborating with other disciplines throughout the company to develop relationships and team to pursue high-level work
- Work in multi-disciplinary groups and convey ideas and recommendations over technical expertise boundaries
Position Competency Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering field
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- Strong background in water/wastewater infrastructure engineering. A min of 6-10 years of experience.
- Experience in the preparation of design plans, specifications, bid documents and construction services.
- Demonstrated experience with public, government or municipal clients.
- Ability to develop and coordinate technical proposals, write detailed scope of work, and develop detailed cost estimates and project schedules leading to quality deliverables
- Strong oral and writing skills with the ability to develop technical reports and memorandums with limited oversight
- Ability to convey results and discuss progress with clients as well as continuously developing good relationships
Knowledge of local and national level standards relative to water and wastewater system requirements, technical studies, and design requirements

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary Range: $81, 000-$115, 000.
