Position Summary: The Post Closing Underwriter is responsible for reviewing and resolving post-closing and investor suspense conditions to support the timely purchase of funded mortgage loans. This position reviews loan documentation, researches investor and agency requirements, identifies required corrective action, and works with internal departments and external partners to obtain documentation needed to clear outstanding conditions. The position requires prior mortgage underwriting or post-closing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage an assigned pipeline of loans and exceptions. Location: Remote. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review and resolve post-closing and pre-purchase investor suspense conditions.Review funded loan files for completeness and compliance with applicable investor, agency, and company requirements.Research investor and agency guidelines to determine requirements for clearing loan-level deficiencies.Review underwriting, credit, income, asset, title, collateral, closing, and other loan documentation as needed to resolve outstanding conditions.Obtain and review corrected or supplemental documentation required for investor purchase.Prepare responses and provide supporting documentation to investors and aggregators for outstanding conditions.Work with Underwriting, Closing, Funding, Processing, Delivery, Capital Markets, Government Insuring, and other departments to resolve loan deficiencies.Communicate with investors, settlement agents, brokers, and other third parties as needed to obtain documentation or resolve exceptions.Monitor assigned loans and prioritize conditions based on aging, investor deadlines, and purchase requirements.Maintain accurate and detailed notes regarding outstanding conditions, actions taken, and resolution status.Escalate aged, complex, or potentially material loan deficiencies to management when appropriate.Maintain current knowledge of applicable agency, investor, and company guidelines. Qualifications: 3+ years of mortgage underwriting, post-closing, quality control, investor delivery, or related mortgage banking experience preferred.Working knowledge of conventional and government mortgage loan requirements.Experience with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines preferred.FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and/or Non-QM experience is a plus.Experience reviewing investor suspense conditions or post-closing loan deficiencies preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple loans and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal and external business partners. Pay Disclosure: This is a full-time position. The starting hourly rate pay range for this position is $32.00 - $41.00 an hour. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Work Authorization: Must be able to verify identity and employment eligibility to work in the U.S. without a visa sponsorship.
