Job Overview

We are seeking an expert and motivated Manufacturing Engineer/Engineering Lab and Machine Shop Supervisor to join our Process Technology team. The candidate will lead all aspects of all laboratory and machine shop operations and administration, ensuring that engineering projects and experiments are conducted efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a dedication to maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Coordinate daily operations of the engineering laboratory, including scheduling, staff management, and prioritization.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all lab activities enforce to safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with engineers and researchers to plan, complete, and supervise lab experiments and projects. Also lead and help on process development for raw materials and new technologies.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Budget Management: Assist in developing and running the lab budget, identifying cost-saving measures, and ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to lab staff and interns, promoting professional development and technical skills enhancement.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of experimental data.
  • Technology and strategy: Understand engineering strategies and forecast to ensure lab and machine shop are keeping up with the business requirements in the most efficient way.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
  • Experience in product/process development on a regulated industry, preferably Medical Device field.
  • Proven experience in an engineering lab environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Independently work in multiple projects for timely completion.
  • Ability to execute testing, support and partnering with engineering groups with minimum guidance and oversight.
  • Solid understanding of laboratory and machine shop safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in using laboratory software and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Great teammate and customer centric attitude.
  • Strong technical understanding of technology used in the lab and machine shop.
  • Basic financial knowledge to enable business case creation and execution.

Additional Information:

  • The anticipated base pay for this position is $89, 000 - $142, 600 annually.
  • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

    • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
