We are seeking a hard-working and motivated Software Engineer with expertise in software programming and a strong background in AI/ML to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, deploying, and optimizing automation scripts as well as develop machine learning models and AI-powered solutions to the manufacturing floor. The candidate will be passionate about solving complex technical challenges and driving the development of innovative AI technologies that can scale across various products and platforms.

Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement automated unit and integration test for robotic hardware and/or PCAs
- Work with cross functional teams to determine efficient approach to each development effort
- Help to structure new software and refactor existing software for testability
- Develop modular test scripts to automate test data collection and analysis
- Hold formal technical reviews with stakeholders to release software libraries, tools, documentation, and test scripts
- Defect Tracking and Control - Find, investigate and report product problems
- Work with our automated test infrastructure
- Investigate and develop AI technologies and solutions to the manufacturing environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement AI/ML solutions to improve business processes and user experiences
- Implement and maintain cloud computing infrastructure
- Perform data analysis and preprocessing to support model training, including handling large datasets and cleaning raw data
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AI/ML research, applying new techniques and methodologies to improve product offerings
- Document and communicate technical processes, models, and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Mentor Junior SW Engineers
QualificationsEducation: - B.S. or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or similar degree)
Experience and Skills: Required: - 6 years work experience in software development, with a focus on AI and machine learning applications
- Experience working on instrumentation automation and using scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Batch, Bash or Linux commands.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Strong proficiency in Edge Computing and Cloud Computing
- Familiarity with model deployment and scaling in multiple cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Produce high quality documentation that is clearly understandable by internal and external personnel
- Strong level of ownership, accountability, and drive for going above and beyond
- Bias towards action, great sense of accuracy, and perform well under pressure
- Entrepreneurial self starter, flexible, adaptable and comfortable managing with uncertainty
- Able to think creatively and 'connect the dots' to resolve 'out of the ordinary' challenges
Preferred: - Experience in developing AI-based applications such as natural language processing (NLP) generative AI in Small language models, computer vision, or recommendation systems
- Knowledge of deep learning techniques, reinforcement learning, and neural networks or other advanced machine learning paradigms
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools for automating machine learning workflows
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data storage solutions
- Experience in Smart manufacturing, cyber physical system and applications of Industrial IoT Devices in manufacturing environments
- Knowledgeable and current with Industry automation trends and technologies
- Experience working on medical devices industries
- Familiarity working on Advanced automation including articulated robotics
- Experience in Product lifecycle Management systems such as Oracle Agile
Other: - English Fluency is required
- Ability to travel up to 10% to partners is required
- The anticipated base pay range for this position is in the California Bay Area - The anticipated base pay range for this position is 105000 to 169050.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year.
