Position Overview:

Insulet Corporation, maker of Omnipod, is the leader in tubeless insulin pumps. We are looking for a Software Test Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of our next generation of products. This is a fast-paced environment working on challenging problems. Your work will impact the lives of people living with diabetes!

As a Software Test Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage a team of skilled automation test engineers tasked with extending the capabilities of an automation framework to accommodate test strategies and new technologies. You will partner with product development teams and DevOps, both local and abroad, to support the development of world class medical device software. Candidates should have experience leading teams and verifying production-quality software.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Cloud Test Engineers with a strong focus on automation excellence and technical growth
  • Define and execute the automation strategy across backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Drive the design, development, and evolution of scalable automation frameworks
  • Act as a hands-on contributor, actively involved in coding, reviewing, and improving automation solutions
  • Lead automation transformation initiatives in support of framework standardization and CI/CD integration
  • Collaborate with team to triage and prioritize incoming issues-- refine problem description, determine reproduction steps, and identify next steps
  • Establish best practices for automation test reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency
  • Define and track automation metrics, coverage, and quality indicators.
  • Respond to production escalations and coordinate resolution amongst team


Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years software test experience
  • 5+ years leading software test teams
  • 2+ years managing direct reports


Preferred Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of Cloud architectural patterns and design
  • Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks from scratch or transforming existing ones.
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Platforms and infrastructure tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Git or Cucumber
  • Experience leading Agile software testing
  • Experience testing distributing architectures and data streaming/processing
  • Experience testing AWS solutions, e.g. ECS, Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, KMS
  • Experience programming in Java and/or Python
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Karate test framework a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with FDA and data privacy regulations a plus


Physical Requirements (if applicable):
  • Occasional business travel within US and globally
  • Off-hour availability for critical issues

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $140, 500.00 - $210, 700.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
