Waldorf Astoria is looking for an Executive Pastry Chefto join the team at our stunning Beverly Hills hotel!

This luxurious, Forbes 5-Star property has 170 rooms, 6, 300 square feet of banquet space, and 4 food and beverage outlets.This includes our signature restaurant, The Rooftop, Lobby Lounge, and In-Room Dining.

In this role, you willoversee the hotel's pastry department managing a team of 10and reporting directly to the Executive Chef.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent culinarian and leader with a passion for creating unforgettable experiences, a talent for training and developing others, and the ability to drive and inspire creativity and innovation. This individual must thrive in high-volume, fine dining operations. At least three (3) years experience as a Pastry Chef with a background in luxury hotels is required. Prior union experience is a plus.

Classification: Full-Time

Shift: Various - must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this role is $110, 000-$130, 000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

What will I be doing?

As an Executive Pastry Chef, you are responsible for operating the pastry section of the kitchen while working closely with the Director of Culinary and Executive Chef to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. An Executive Pastry Chef will also be required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
  • Assist running the pastry section of the kitchen
  • Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings
  • Bring creativity to the pastry offerings
  • Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation
  • Plan production to facilitate daily requirements
  • Develop appropriate seasonal menu offerings
  • Manage food cost controls to contribute to Food and Beverage revenue
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
