Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily treatment notes and weekly progress updates in accordance with the OT Board.
  • Implement treatments based on the physician's prescribed plan.
  • Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.
  • Communicate with supervisors and the healthcare team regarding patient progress, challenges, and plans.
  • Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff.
  • Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress reports, and recertification records, complying with Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and requirements from governmental and third-party payers.
  • Record any treatment changes per established policies and procedures.
  • Educate patients' families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and provide caregiver training in preparation for discharge.
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
  • Report any issues with departmental equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
  • Build positive, effective, and appropriate relationships with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.


Required License or Certification:
  • Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License
