Job Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Maintain accurate records of daily treatment notes and weekly progress updates in accordance with the OT Board.
- Implement treatments based on the physician's prescribed plan.
- Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.
- Communicate with supervisors and the healthcare team regarding patient progress, challenges, and plans.
- Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff.
- Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress reports, and recertification records, complying with Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and requirements from governmental and third-party payers.
- Record any treatment changes per established policies and procedures.
- Educate patients' families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and provide caregiver training in preparation for discharge.
- Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
- Report any issues with departmental equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
- Build positive, effective, and appropriate relationships with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
Required License or Certification:
- Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License
