GENERAL DESCRIPTION Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is looking for a dependable, customer focused Donation Pick Up Associate to support our ReStore donation pick-up team. Every day, you'll help collect donated furniture, appliances, and building materials that directly fund affordable housing programs throughout Los Angeles County. This is an active, hands on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, interacting with people, and being part of a team. You'll assist with loading donations, communicating with donors, ensuring safe transportation of items, and helping keep our warehouse operations running smoothly. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Donation Pick-Up & Customer Service Contact donors before scheduled pick-ups to confirm appointments and provide arrival updates. Greet donors professionally and provide outstanding customer service during every interaction. Verify donated items upon arrival and communicate any additions or changes to dispatch or management. Accurately complete donation receipts and required documentation. Transportation & Safety Assist the driver by directing backing, parking, and maneuvering the truck safely. Safely load, secure, and unload donated furniture, appliances, and building materials. Follow all safety procedures and proper lifting techniques to protect yourself, your teammate, and donated merchandise. Fill in for the Driver when needed, as assigned. Warehouse & ReStore Support Assist with unloading donations into the warehouse and organizing merchandise. Support warehouse and ReStore operations to complete a full 8-hour workday. Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of company vehicles and work areas. SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. Minimum 19 years of age (insurance requirements). At least one year of experience in moving, delivery, warehouse, logistics, customer service, or a related field preferred. Experience safely loading, unloading, and securing heavy or oversized items. Forklift certification (OSHA) preferred but not required. Experience using route management or dispatch software (Vonigo or similar) is a plus. Strong communication and customer service skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to adapt to changing routes and daily priorities. WORK CONDITIONS Frequently it is required to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. alone, team lift 100 lbs. Frequent movement around the office/warehouse/ReStore may be necessary. Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens. Working conditions consist of high temperature-controlled workspaces. Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on the work area. While performing the duties of a Donation Pick Up Associate the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle and/or feel objects, handle tools and/or controls, and talk to and/or hear.
