GENERAL DESCRIPTION **This is a temporary position with the potential to transition into a regular full time role based on organizational needs, and job performance**Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is seeking is a dependable Cashier to create a welcoming and positive experience for every ReStore customer. In this customer facing role, you will accurately process purchases, handle cash and credit card transactions, answer questions, promote store sales and campaigns, and help customers find the products they need. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing excellent service, and can remain organized and attentive in a fast-paced retail environment. This is an opportunity to build valuable retail experience while supporting Habitat LA's mission of creating affordable housing throughout Los Angeles SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Welcome customers and provide attentive, friendly, and professional service. Process cash, credit card, gift card, and other point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently. Assist with opening, closing, and daily register-balancing procedures. Answer customer questions, address concerns, and help resolve issues professionally. Promote store sales, gift cards, round-up campaigns, and other ReStore initiatives. Learn product locations and guide customers to merchandise throughout the store. Recommend products and inform customers about current promotions and store activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area, including registers, checkout lanes, and surrounding spaces. Assist with pricing donations, organizing merchandise, and supporting sales as needed. Work collaboratively with team members and provide support in other areas of the store when needed. SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally with customers and respond calmly to questions or concerns. Ability to handle cash, make change, and process transactions accurately. Previous experience using a cash register or point-of-sale system is preferred. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn store systems and procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to transaction accuracy. Ability to stay organized and manage multiple responsibilities during busy periods. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment. Dependable attendance and the ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move moderately weighted merchandise, bags, or boxes as needed. Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including weekends, based on store needs. COMPENSATION Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.75Exact offer for this position is $19.00/hr.
