What does a Respiratory Therapist do?

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management,
rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities, which
effect on the pulmonary system

Essential Duties:
  • Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor as outlined in our established
  • policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures of the facility to which the respiratory care practitioner is assigned.
  • Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs.
  • Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from healthcare members and documents actual and/or potential diagnoses. patient care outcome standard. A care practitioner is assigned.
  • In services, the nurse is primarily responsible for the patient, and the physician, as needed, and before leaving the facility departments within the facility.
  • Violations of such disclosure to the Administrator of this position. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.

Requirements:
  • Plans for outcomes of care for those patients assigned.
  • Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and
  • Adheres to emergency, safety and infection control procedures of the facility to which the respiratory
  • Promotes and participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications.
  • Reports changes in the patient's respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other
  • Agree not to disclose resident's protected health information and promptly report suspected or known
  • Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of performing the assigned duties
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
  • Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential.
  • Must possess, as a minimum, an Associate Degree from an
  • accredited school.
  • Must be a Graduate of a respiratory care program.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in the health care field preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year respiratory experience in a skilled nursing, acute and/or subacute unit preferred.
