Summary The Taskforce Hotel Manager is a temporary position that includes onsite housing and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the property and ensuring a consistently exceptional guest experience throughout the assignment. This is a hands-on management position requiring strong leadership, sound judgment, flexibility, and a willingness to work alongside the team in all areas of hotel operations. The Temporary Live-In Hotel Manager will supervise and support front desk, housekeeping, laundry, kitchen, maintenance, and other property operations; respond to guest needs and operational issues; maintain appropriate staffing and service standards; and ensure that company policies, procedures, safety standards, and Four Sisters Inns' core values are consistently followed. Because this is a live-in position, the manager will be available to respond to property needs outside of scheduled working hours when necessary. The manager is expected to maintain professional boundaries between work and personal time while ensuring appropriate after-hours coverage and responding to urgent guest or property matters. This position is expected be potentially 30 days or more, depending on the Company's operational needs. The temporary assignment may end at any time based on business needs, staffing, or other operational considerations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Hotel Operations & Leadership Oversee the day-to-day operations of the property and ensure the hotel is operating efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with Four Sisters Inns' standards. Directly supervise and support property staff, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Laundry, Housepersons, Maintenance, Kitchen, and other assigned team members. Maintain clear, professional, and respectful communication with all team members. Establish daily priorities and ensure appropriate staffing and coverage across departments. Monitor operational performance and address issues promptly and appropriately. Provide guidance, coaching, and direction to employees and escalate significant performance or employee-relations matters to FSI management. Assist with training and onboarding of team members as needed. Ensure employees follow Four Sisters Inns policies, procedures, safety requirements, and service standards. Work collaboratively with other Four Sisters Inns managers and corporate leadership. Hands-On Property Support The Temporary Live-In Hotel Manager is expected to be a hands-on leader and may be required to perform operational duties in any department based on business needs, including: Assisting with front desk and guest services. Cleaning and resetting guest rooms. Assisting with laundry and stocking supplies and amenities. Preparing and delivering breakfast baskets. Preparing cookies, cheese boards, and other guest amenities. Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization. Assisting with afternoon wine and cheese service. Assisting with minor maintenance tasks and identifying maintenance needs. Maintaining clean, organized, and guest-ready common areas. Supporting the team during periods of high occupancy, staffing shortages, or unexpected operational needs. Performing other operational duties as assigned. Property Maintenance & Safety Monitor the condition of guest rooms, common areas, service areas, grounds, and other property facilities. Identify maintenance issues and coordinate appropriate repairs or service. Obtain bids and coordinate small improvement projects as directed. Ensure preventative maintenance recommendations are implemented. Ensure equipment and materials are used safely and appropriately. Follow established safety procedures and ensure employees do the same. Ensure health and safety requirements are consistently followed. Conduct required safety meetings and complete required safety documentation as assigned. Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Complete required daily and monthly operational and revenue paperwork. Maintain accurate and organized records and files. Follow established accounting and administrative procedures. Assist with payroll, accounts payable, revenue reporting, forecasting, OSHA documentation, and other required reports as assigned. Monitor purchasing and inventory levels and maintain appropriate cost controls. Ensure purchases comply with established budgets and company guidelines. Monitor room availability and rates in accordance with direction from the revenue management team. Maintain accurate online availability through the hotel's designated systems and channels as required. Support occupancy and revenue goals by maximizing room sales and following established revenue-management practices. After-Hours & Live-In Responsibilities Remain available to respond to urgent guest or property matters outside of scheduled working hours as required. Respond appropriately to emergencies, urgent maintenance issues, guest concerns, and other operational situations. Maintain communication with the appropriate FSI leadership regarding significant after-hours incidents. Understand that the live-in arrangement is provided in connection with the temporary position and is contingent upon continued employment in the position. Housing is provided for the duration of the temporary assignment and concludes when the temporary assignment ends. Other Duties Maintain a professional demeanor and conduct consistent with Four Sisters Inns' standards and core values. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as operational needs change. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Temporary Live-In Hotel Manager may directly supervise property staff, including Front Desk Personnel, Housekeeping, Housepersons, Maintenance Personnel, Kitchen Help, and other assigned employees. Supervisory responsibilities include providing direction, coaching, training, and recommendations regarding employee performance and other employment-related matters, in accordance with Four Sisters Inns' policies and applicable law. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Previous hotel, hospitality, or related management experience required. Strong guest-service and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with a small team. Strong organizational, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond appropriately to unexpected situations. Strong attention to detail. Ability and willingness to work hands-on in all areas of hotel operations. Knowledge of food handling safety and basic cooking abilities. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied schedules as business needs require. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and appropriate auto insurance required. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with FSI management. Ability to work in accordance with Four Sisters Inns' five core values: Grace, Grit, Attentive, Adaptable, and Above and Beyond. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree, preferably in Hotel/Motel Management or a related field, is preferred but may be substituted by relevant hospitality management experience. Previous hotel/motel experience, including experience with hotel operations, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, staffing, and guest services, is strongly preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, understand, and follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, guests, vendors, and members of the public. Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and other required documentation. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply percentages, ratios, and other practical mathematical concepts. Ability to understand and work with basic hotel revenue and financial information. Working knowledge of Excel and other applicable computer systems preferred. REASONING ABILITY Ability to identify problems, gather information, evaluate options, and make sound decisions. Ability to respond appropriately to guest, employee, and operational issues. Ability to apply common sense and good judgment in a variety of situations. Ability to prioritize competing demands and respond effectively to changing circumstances. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical requirements described below are representative of those necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment may include guest rooms, offices, kitchens, laundry areas, maintenance areas, outdoor areas, and other hotel facilities. The employee may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, in outdoor weather conditions, and around other conditions normally associated with hotel operations. The noise level is generally moderate but may vary depending on the location and operational activity. TEMPORARY POSITION & LIVE-IN HOUSING This is a temporary, full-time, live-in position expected to last 30 days or more, based on the operational needs of Four Sisters Inns. Housing is provided as part of the temporary live-in assignment. The housing arrangement is directly connected to the position and is provided for the duration of the temporary assignment. Housing does not continue after the temporary assignment ends. The temporary nature of the position and the live-in housing arrangement do not alter the employee's obligation to comply with all applicable Four Sisters Inns policies, procedures, standards, and expectations.
