Based in San Jose, CA, the Planner/Buyer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and products through the organization’s operations. This position combines strategic planning with hands-on coordination, focusing equally on production planning and warehouse administration. The role involves close collaboration with suppliers, production teams, and logistics partners to align supply with demand, optimize inventory levels, and maintain operational efficiency. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Planning (50%):

• Coordinate daily supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Collaborate with suppliers & production to manage demand and production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and order quantities to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
• Coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and components.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, and inventory turnover.
• Implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
• Focus on shopfloor production planning, ensuring smooth operations and timely communication with shopfloor staff.

Warehouse Administration (50%):

• Assist daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping of products.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Coordinate with transportation providers to schedule and track shipments.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipments, and returns.

Authorities:

  • Plan and adjust production schedules based on demand forecasts, material availability, and shopfloor constraints.
  • Initiate and manage purchase orders for raw materials and components, ensuring alignment with production needs and inventory targets.
  • Resolve supply and inventory discrepancies by coordinating directly with suppliers, warehouse staff, and internal teams.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve delivery performance.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, with the authority to escalate issues and propose corrective actions when targets are not met.
  • Coordinate logistics and transportation decisions, including carrier selection and shipment scheduling, within established guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in operational supply chain planning and warehouse administration.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in shopfloor production planning.

• Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Experience with shipping tools (Fedex ship manager)

• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle).
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.

The US base salary range for this position is $90, 000-105, 000.
