East Bay Post Acute is seeking an experienced
Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care to our residents. Enjoy a competitive rate staring at

The Opportunity: - Position: Occupational Therapist (PRN)
- Location: East Bay Post Acute — East Bay Area
- Compensation Starting @ $60 per hour
- Type: PRN (As Needed)
Essential Duties: - Patient Evaluation: Evaluate patients within twenty-four (24) hours or one business day of physician referral. If unable to complete the evaluation within this timeframe, document the reason for the delay in the medical record.
- Treatment Plans: Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval for services from the referring physician.
- Patient Care: Treat patients in accordance with the physician-approved treatment plan.
- Training Support: Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides in effective patient care practices.
- Supervision: Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in direct patient care and related activities, adhering to state practice acts.
- Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with the supervisor and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress, challenges, and treatment plans.
- Meetings Participation: Engage in Patient Care Conferences, Utilization Review meetings, and Rehabilitation Conferences as required.
- In-Service Training: Participate in in-service training programs for other staff members at the facility.
- Documentation: Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation according to Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and third-party payer requirements.
- Discharge Preparation: Instruct patients' families and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training to ensure smooth discharge from therapy services.
- Discharge Planning: Participate actively in discharge planning and recommend necessary durable medical equipment (DME) to facilitate patient independence.
- Equipment Maintenance: Report any issues with department equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
- Positive Interactions: Relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
Supervisory Requirements: - Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), therapy aides, and student interns as needed.
Qualifications: - Licensure: Current and valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of California.
- Experience: Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation environment is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
