Position Summary:

Reporting to Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of the Company's financial records, including preparation, entry and/or review of appropriate general ledger entries and reconciliations, maintenance of the general ledger system, and assistance with preparing and reviewing financial statements. This role will require a self-motivated, positive, collaborative individual with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities. The candidate will also prepare various analyses to support external audit and reporting requirements, and other ad hoc management reporting/projects as needed.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Management of monthly closing process including ensuring month-end close schedule tasks are completed accurately and timely.
  • Reviewing month-end tasks performed by other Accountants and A/P staff for completeness and accuracy, and preparation and posting of month-end journal entries as part of the closing cycle.
  • Analysis of Income Statement(s) to include review of amounts recorded in the general ledger to ensure adherence to GAAP and completeness of financial activity.
  • Provide financial support to business units and prepare monthly financial packages with monthly reporting and variance analysis including explanation for variances from budget and prior periods.
  • Reconcile and analyze accounts to include preparation of reconciliations that support/control financial statement accounts.
  • Must be able to identify issues and raise them to the attention of accounting management in a timely manner.
  • Identify process improvements and assist with creating and implementing policies and procedures for internal controls
  • Research accounting treatment to validate accounting transactions
  • Help ensure timely and quality compliance for lender reporting, 1099 reporting, sales & use tax and any other compliance or other external reporting as required.
  • Act as a backup to accounting duties performed by other accounting department staff
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other departments, including obtaining timely information for various projects
  • Support ongoing expansion of the business, including matters associated with geographic expansion, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
  • Monthly review of prepaids, accruals, and posting of month end information; ensure accuracy of revenues, payables, prepaids, expenses and accruals within financial statements.
  • Understanding of multi-entity accounting with intercompany adjustments
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/accounting related field of study
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in the accounting field. Experience can be a combination of public accounting and private industry experience.
  • Experience with accounting in a medical practice management highly desired
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to think independently and to present information in a conceptual and persuasive manner
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to provide clear, concise and timely communications on critical issues
  • Ability to interact and work well with others


Employment Status: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Work Location: Irvine, CA

Compensation: Pay Range: $ 27.50-36.00 per hour
