Job Description
Discovery Behavioral Health is hiring a HR Specialist II in Irvine, CA. This is a full-time position, and paying $25.00–$30.00/year.
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist II carries out responsibilities to support the employee orientation process and facility compliance to Discovery Behavioral Health's required protocols. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Discovery Behavioral Health.

Compensation: Pay Range: $25-30/hr. DOE
The Human Resources Specialist II carries out responsibilities to support the employee orientation process and facility compliance to Discovery Behavioral Health's required protocols. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Discovery Behavioral Health.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conducts Employee Onboarding process by collecting all required and state specific documents/requirements.
- Work with 3rd party vendors to collect employee pre-employment clinic results and background checks.
- Engage with new hires and hiring leaders to meet onboarding needs, and coordinate all new hire onboarding activities through scheduling, communication, coordination, internal collaboration, and additional support.
- Act as the main point of contact for the pre-employment onboarding process, assisting hiring leaders and Team-Members to tackle logistical challenges and to answer questions pertaining to any stage of the pre-employment and onboarding process.
- Monitors I-9 & and HR completion.
- Ensures everyday compliance of Discovery's policies and procedures.
- Administers new hire accounts in all company information systems (email, Dayforce access etc.)
- Collaborate with facility management to ensure facilities HR files are up to compliance.
- Provide reports outlining all deficiencies.
- Collaborate with Joint Commission, Licensing and CSQM department to ensure we are meeting expectations, licensing, and state requirements.
- Manage any state specific employee rosters as requested.
- Update employee files accordingly.
- Regularly monitors the Zoho ticketing system and takes incoming calls.
- Helps support with any other HR-related functions.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, which include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to build and sustain trusting relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhering to ethical standards.
- Actively offering assistance to team members when needed and celebrating team achievements collectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with community-based organizations, patients, families, vendors, and other resources to promote client services, care, education, and advocacy.
- BS degree in human resources, business administration or related field preferred
- 2 years of experience working in HR related field required.
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in standard office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
- Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems & Applicant Tracking System preferred.
- Demonstrated HR knowledge and results
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize & organize.
