Job Description
  • Patient Treatment: Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Documentation: Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board requirements.
  • Department Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the department environment and equipment.
  • Team Participation: Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
  • Facility Upkeep: Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
  • Compliance with Treatment Plans: Treat patients according to the physician's treatment plan.
  • Support Staff Training: Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
  • In-Service Training: Participate in in-service training programs for other staff within the facility.
  • Record Keeping: Record treatment changes according to policy and procedures.
  • Family and Staff Instruction: Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.
  • Equipment Reporting: Report any problems with department equipment to ensure it is maintained in good working order.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.


Required License or Certification
  • Valid Physical Therapist Assistant License
