The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Medical Center, located in Moreno Valley, is currently recruiting for new graduate Registered Nurses (RN) for the
Emergency Department (ED). The Riverside University Medical Center - Emergency Department is a 44-licensed bed, ACS Level I Trauma Center for adults and Level II Pediatric Trauma center. On average RUHS-ED serves 80, 000 to 100, 000 patients annually. RUHS-ED provides multiple community services, such as, on-sight social workers, case managers, behavioral health professionals, child life specialists, and addiction counselors. We have a robust sepsis and stroke program, with the majority of these patients beginning in the ED. Within our department, we have four clinical educators who over-see our new graduate nurses and assist the department with education, training, competencies, and critical patients.
The new graduate Registered Nurse cohort is designed to incorporate critical judgement, professional conduct, and weekly didactics to integrate the necessary skills and critical thinking required to become an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. The program is 18-weeks with the focus of the new graduate Registered Nurse mastering critical skills. Upon graduation, the new graduate Registered Nurse will be able to function at a competent level within our emergency department.
Position Requirements for the Emergency Department Upon Hire:
- Valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of CA, (it is not necessary to be licensed prior to interviewing for the position, however, you must have a valid license prior to official onboarding).
- BLS, ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Work Schedule: The schedule for this position is night shift, 7: 00 p.m. - 7: 00 a.m., 3/12s.

Provide direct and ongoing care to patients of all age ranges.
Responsible for managing nursing care and services to patients and their families.
Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a health-related field may be required for some positions.)
Experience: None required.
Knowledge of: The theory, techniques and practices of professional nursing; common medical terminology; hospital and/or healthcare procedures and equipment; the purposes and effects of medicine and narcotics.
Ability to: Skillfully perform the full range of nursing duties and responsibilities; follow oral and written procedures; maintain concise and complete records and reports; plan and organize nursing plans; establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, patients, and co-workers.
Other Requirements
License/Certificate: Must possess and maintain a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
Possession and maintenance of a current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association.
Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required.
Pre-Employment

Probationary Period
As an Approved Local Merit System, all County of Riverside employees, except those serving "At Will, " are subject to the probationary period provisions as specified in the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, County Resolution, or Salary Ordinance.
