The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) is seeking a Per Diem Spanish Bilingual Licensed Vocational Nurse II within the Community Health Centers department to join their CHC Mobile Health Clinic in Corona . Under supervision and direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician, the incumbent will be responsible for performing nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing in the care of patients in the Department of Mental Health or Public Health Ambulatory Family Health Center; and perform other related duties as required.

At least 2 years of LVN experience in a public health setting is preferred.
Required valid licenses and certificates:

Learn more about our Community Health Centers by visiting www.ruhealth.org•Provides nursing care to patients; prepares patients for physicians, registered nurses, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, and cares for patients during treatment; administers medications subcutaneously, intramuscularly, intradermally, subdermally, and/or orally; takes temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure of patients as necessary.
•Performs venipuncture, injections of medications including biological immunizations for pediatric and adults, including the provision of Tuberculin skin tests, Coccidioidin skin tests and Histoplasmin skin tests in the course of a tuberculosis control program.
•Applies and changes dressings and administers treatments including catheterizations, irrigations, and enemas; collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
•Assists physicians, mid-level providers and registered nurses in the administration of special treatments, examinations, and intravenous therapy; charts treatments and medications and maintains pertinent medical records according to policies and procedures, and established practice of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing.
•Assists physicians, mid-level providers and registered nurses in the administration of medical records; assists in the data collection, preparation and implementation of patient care plans; participates in patient education and rehabilitation programs and documents data appropriately.
•Observes patients' condition and behavior, and reports significant changes to the supervisor; may participate in physical, occupational and group therapy programs.
•May act under supervision and direction of a physician, mid-level provider, or registered nurse as a team leader over nursing assistants, health services assistants, medical assistants, supportive services aides, licensed psychiatric technicians, or other licensed vocational nurses as assigned.
Licensed Vocational Nurse II: Experience: At least one year of successful experience as an LVN, preferably in a public health clinic environment.
Knowledge of: Current principles, techniques and procedures used in vocational nursing within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing; medical terminology, acute care procedures and equipment; medication administration and any policies and procedures of the setting assigned.
Ability to: Skillfully perform the full range of vocational nursing duties and responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing; learn and follow policies and procedures for the setting assigned; establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, mid-level providers, registered nurses, patients, and co-workers; complete and maintain reports and patient records; make observations of situations accurately and report them so effective action can be taken according to rules of documentation and policies and procedures.
Other Requirements: License: Possession of a valid California Vocational Nurse's License issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
Certification: Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association for professional healthcare providers.
A valid California Driver's license is required for staff working in the Mobile Health Clinic because the position involves traveling to various community sites throughout the county to provide healthcare services. Staff may be required to operate county vehicles, assist with transporting clinic equipment and supplies, or travel between clinic locations and partner sites.
Additionally, Mobile Health Clinic staff must be able to respond to changing schedules, support outreach efforts in underserved communities, and ensure continuity of services across multiple locations. Having a valid driver license helps ensure staff can safely and reliably perform the essential duties of the position while supporting efficient clinic operations.
Physical Requirements: Physical requirements may include prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying medical supplies and equipment up to 50lbs weight limit. Staff may also be required to enter and exit the mobile clinic multiple times throughout the day and work in varying outdoor weather conditions during community events and outreach activities.
Employees must possess sufficient physical stamina and mobility to support daily clinic operations, assist patients as needed, and safely perform assigned job duties in a fast-paced mobile healthcare environment.
Bilingual Testing The Human Resources Department will coordinate a Bilingual (Spanish) Non-Proctored Assessment.
