Description:

Operates radiographic and other related equipment and assists physicians as necessary to complete diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages. In addition to General Radiology, staff may perform exams in one of the following imaging modalities; CT, Diagnostic Ultrasound, DEXA, MRI, or Mammography. Coordinates patient flow and responsible for producing quality images efficiently and safely.

QUALIFICATIONS

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

  • Minimum: Graduate from an accredited radiologic technologist program. Graduate from an accredited program or similar on the job training in one of the following modalities: CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, MRI, DEXA or student coordinator.
  • Preferred: Continuing education in radiologic technology and second modality.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Minimum: Valid California Radiologic Technologist certification. Valid California Fluoroscopy certification within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). Achievement of advanced certification in CT, MRI, DEXA, or Mammography (CT and DEXA certifications must be achieved no later than 4/30/2020).
  • Preferred: ARRT registered in general radiology, CT, MRI or DEXA, or California mammography certification.


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum: Ability to use specialized radiology and other health care equipment.


YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred: Two years performing radiographic exams, and CT, diagnostic ultrasound, mammography, MRI, or DEXA exams in a hospital environment.
