Description:

This position supervises the workforce(s) providing direct care for patients. Directs patient assignments, staff scheduling, patient flow, and assists in meeting financial targets by effectively assisting in managing utilization, productivity, personnel and supplies. Participates, as necessary, in team meetings and represents clinical staff on appropriate committees.

Requires current California RN license. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)/American Heart Association (AHA) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Current certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a nationally recognized accrediting organization, i.e., the National Certification Corporation (NCC).

Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles, theories, and practices, including infection control with demonstrated clinical expertise in area of practice. Knowledge of administration of prescribed medications and treatments required. Knowledge of scheduling and time keeping, preferred.

Three years of full-time clinical experience, one year of which shall have been in neonatal nursing in a NICU that is equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU, required.
