Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently looking for a Process Engineer to join our team! This role will be reporting to our Engineering Manager at our Aerospace Manufacturing facility in Cudahy, CA.

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing the best practices for designated process areas. Implement and enforce process control strategies to reduce variation, reduce cost, and improve throughput.

The concepts and tools of problem solving are essential to the job. Engineers will be required to: identify/define problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to problems that affect yield, rework, and overall quality of the product using a standardized approach (PDCA, Six-Sigma...). Knowledge and application of statistics. Occasionally, we take a leadership role in resolving cross-functional problems.

Annual Rate: $90K - $130K DOE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Analyze, review, and implement KPVs throughout the process
  • Manage quality of KPV data collection
  • Improve process control
  • Use statistical tools to understand measurement systems and to use data to improve yields and reduce costs
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new process technologies that advance manufacturing and product capabilities
  • Document work procedures and processes
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure organization objectives are achieved
  • Help to identify ways to improve labor utilization and reduce costs
  • Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results
  • Use structured problem-solving tools and techniques to increase profitability and reduce scrap and rework

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 1-3 years relevant experience or MSc with 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Industrial manufacturing experience
  • Proven success in process improvements using mathematical and statistical problem-solving techniques to identify process variations in manufacturing processes with many contributing variables.
  • The successful candidate's career will show increasing levels of responsibility.
