Dimensional Inspector - Sandcasting Aerospace Parts

The Dimensional Inspector dimensionally inspects (measures) aluminum aerospace castings to meet blueprint specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities: - List essential job functions that comprise the job; describe in terms of actions (verbs) and desired outcomes in order of most important first:
- Use appropriate gauges to determine whether the casting is acceptable, rejectable, or in need of repair.
- Record gauge readings to be placed on file, and/or apply assigned inspection identification to the casting.
- Repair the casting either by stoning, belting, pressing, bending, or twisting as appropriate to ensure and then re check usage appropriate measuring device.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to and enforce proper safety/security procedures and protocol.
Pay range: $28.00-33.00/hr DOE
Minimum Qualifications and Experience: - List the minimum requirements to be considered for this position:
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) not required
- Experience: 6 to 12 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications/Licenses: None
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, PEI's and Work Instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to use a calculator. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Environment: - The job is performed under reasonably good working conditions with some exposure to noise, temperature, and machinery.
Schedule: - Monday-Saturday 5: 00am - 1: 30pm
- Overtime as needed
