Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Automation & Test Streamlining
  • Develop and refine Python scripts to automate failure verification test processes.
  • Improve test efficiency by creating tools for data parsing, reporting, and workflow standardization.
  • Document code, test procedures, and results to ensure maintainability and repeatability.

Failure Verification & Analysis
  • Perform basic failure verification testing on optical transceivers, including electrical and optical performance checks.
  • Assist engineers in root-cause identification by collecting test data, performing preliminary analysis, and summarizing findings.
  • Operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, optical power meters, BERTs, and temperature chambers (training provided).
  • Maintain accurate logs of failures, test results, and observations.

Education & Experience
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic proficiency with Python (e.g., scripting, data manipulation, hardware communication).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow test procedures and document results clearly.

Working Conditions
  • This role will be based on-site at Milmont facility in Fremont, CA
  • Regular use of a computer is expected.

Physical Requirements
  • Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
  • Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
