Position Summary

As a Line Service Ramp Controller at Clay Lacy Aviation's premier FBO in Santa Ana, you'll be at the heart of the action-coordinating ramp and hangar operations with precision, efficiency, and a commitment to excellence. This role isn't just about managing logistics; it's about creating seamless, first-class experiences for aircraft, crews, and clients while upholding our industry-leading standards of safety, service, and innovation. Location: Santa Ana, CA (KSNA)

Compensation: $31.61 - $36.88 per hour; comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment
  • Promotes and adheres to all FBO SOP's
  • Provides support to FBO operations to include aircraft movement, refueling, marshalling, and hangar organization while maintaining a high level of internal and external customer service.
  • Assists the Ramp Operations Manager and FBO Quality Manager in frequent formal and informal audits of ramp condition, hangar inventory, fuel quality control, and other Line Service and FBO activities.
  • Participates in twice-daily interdepartmental meetings at the MRO facility.
  • Maintains proficiency in all duties of a Line Service technician.
  • Acts as a Tow Lead when operationally appropriate.
  • Monitors fuel inventory and orders fuel when appropriate
  • Assists with monitoring "Red Flag" accounts and ensures that their experience with the FBO is without incident.
  • Works closely with FBO management on day-to-day operations
  • Performs all regular duties of a Line Service Technician.
  • Answering phone calls and assisting with reservations

Essential Job Functions

The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or jet engine noise. Must have ability to:

  • Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented dedication to great customer service and the ability to inspire that commitment in others.
  • Thorough knowledge of the general aviation industry, aircraft makes and models, and ground support suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of ground handling safety programs.
  • Critical Thinking -- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Service Orientation -- Actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Social Perceptiveness -- Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Should have general working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2 plus years of experience as a Line Service Ramp Controller I or related experience.
