Medical Records Assistant (Interim) - Full-Time
Canyon Springs Post Acute is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to support the management of resident medical records and health information systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations.
Pay: $20-$22/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8: 00 AM - 4: 30 PM
Duration: 9 Months (position will be evaluated for continuation at the end of the assignment)

Responsibilities
- Maintain, organize, and file resident medical records.
- Retrieve and distribute charts and medical information for authorized personnel.
- Ensure records are complete, accurate, and properly indexed.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, assessments, and resident documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Track and document authorized release of medical information.
- Answer inquiries and provide administrative support to the Medical Records Department.
- Attend required trainings and maintain departmental organization.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous medical records, healthcare administrative, or skilled nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and medical record practices preferred.
- Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
