All About the Game Tech Role The Game Technician I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on Belmont Park's arcade games, redemption systems, attractions, and related electronic and electromechanical equipment. This role helps ensure all equipment remains safe, reliable, and guest-ready by responding quickly to technical issues and completing routine maintenance. Working closely with the IT, Operations, and Facilities teams, the Game Technician I supports the daily operation of Belmont Park by minimizing equipment downtime, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and providing technical support that contributes to an exceptional guest experience. Your Role at Belmont Park As a Game Technician I, you'll play an important role in keeping the fun going. From repairing arcade games and attractions to performing preventative maintenance and responding to service calls, your technical expertise helps ensure our guests enjoy safe, reliable, and memorable experiences every day. What You'll Do Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform preventative maintenance on arcade games, redemption equipment, attractions, and related electronic systems. Diagnose and repair basic mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using appropriate tools and testing equipment. Assemble, disassemble, install, and test arcade games, redemption systems, and amusement equipment. Replace defective components including buttons, joysticks, monitors, power supplies, ticket dispensers, wiring, switches, and other mechanical or electronic parts. Utilize wiring diagrams, service manuals, schematics, and manufacturer documentation to complete repairs. Perform basic soldering, wiring repairs, and component replacement as needed. Assist with the installation, relocation, and setup of arcade games and attractions. Daily Operations Conduct daily inspections to ensure equipment is clean, operational, and ready for guests. Respond promptly to service requests and game malfunctions throughout the park. Prioritize repairs to minimize downtime and maximize guest satisfaction. Assist with opening, operating, and closing equipment inspections. Maintain clean, organized, and safe workshops, storage rooms, and work areas. Inventory & Documentation Complete work orders and accurately document repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance. Monitor inventory levels and notify leadership when replacement parts or supplies are needed. Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store incoming equipment and replacement parts. Maintain accountability of tools, equipment, and testing devices. Guest & Team Support Provide timely technical support to Operations and other departments. Professionally assist with guest concerns related to arcade equipment and attractions. Communicate equipment status, repair progress, and operational updates with supervisors and team members. Collaborate with Operations, Facilities, and IT to support daily park operations. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies, manufacturer recommendations, and repair procedures. Properly utilize hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Identify and report unsafe equipment or working conditions. Maintain compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards. Continuous Improvement Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities. Support seasonal installations, equipment upgrades, and special projects. Perform additional duties as assigned. Who You Are Mechanically inclined and enjoy diagnosing technical issues. Passionate about keeping equipment operating at its best. What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience repairing arcade games, amusement equipment, electronic systems, or similar equipment preferred. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Basic understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals preferred. Basic soldering experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
