POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical Assembler is responsible for performing electrical wiring, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of products in a manufacturing environment. This role requires the ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical documentation, apply electrical codes and standards, and support assembly operations while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity expectations. The Electrical Assembler flexes across stations and supports continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing principles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret electrical, electronic, mechanical, and machine blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Perform electrical wiring, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of products, including motors and control systems.
- Install and wire 3-phase and single-phase electrical systems, including motors, motor controls, transformers, PLCs, switches, sensors, and transmitters.
- Perform testing using electronic test equipment (e.g., logic meters, Hi-Pot/dielectric testing).
- Troubleshoot electrical, control, and assembly-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support assembly line operations and flex across different stations and production lines as needed.
- Accurately complete departmental paperwork, reports, and required system transactions.
- Assist with sustaining Lean Manufacturing principles within assigned work areas.
- Executes against standard processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPls) as defined in the global operating standard established in BAC Excellence (BAC-X) including Global Assembly Standardization (GAS) expectations.
- Communicate effectively with Team Leaders, Station Leaders, Material Coordinators, and other team members.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and comply with all safety regulations.
- Adapt to changing job schedules and shifting production priorities.
- Demonstrate consistent performance in productivity, safety, and work habits.
- Understand upstream and downstream customer impacts and contribute to quality and on time delivery.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned by leadership.
- Ability to recognize when the machinery is not running well, trouble shoot and identify issues, adjust as needed.
- Use appropriate methods and interpersonal skills to develop and motivate employees.
- Ability to work any shift as required to support business needs.
- Ability to remain flexible, self‑motivated, and responsive in a fast‑paced environment.
- NFPA 70E Arc Flash Certification preferred. If not certified at hire, employee must obtain certification and demonstrate competency within 90 days of the date of hire. Inability to meet this requirement may result in reassignment, downgrade, or removal from the position, subject to business needs and available positions.
- CPR Training Requirement: Employees exposed to electrical hazards must obtain CPR training in accordance with NFPA 70E and applicable OSHA standards upon assignment and must maintain current CPR certification to meet ongoing emergency response and safety requirements.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in:
- Electrical wiring in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Motors and motor controls maintenance and troubleshooting.
- PLC programming experience desired.
- Hi-Pot (dielectric) testing experience preferred.
- Ability to work any shift; some travel may be required.
Technical Knowledge
- Experience with:
- 3-phase and single-phase electrical wiring.
- Motors, motor controls, transformers, PLCs.
- 120Vac and 24Vdc control circuits.
- Switches, sensors, and transmitters.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Working knowledge of the NFPA 70E Arc Flash standard, hazard awareness, and PPE requirements.
- Ability to use electronic testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- General understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Safety-minded with the ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with basic math and handheld measuring tools (tape measure, dial calipers, square, protractor, micrometers).
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft.

required to stand and walk up to 50% of the time. Working conditions include those of a normal construction environment, as well as standard hazards associated with installed HVAC equipment and rotating equipment. This position requires occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
BAC Hiring Compensation Range: $25-35/hr.
