Job Title: Therapy Technician

Location: Arvin Post Acute - Bakersfield, CA
Facility Type: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Status: Full-Time / Part-Time
Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (BOE)
Must Have: CNA License
Position Summary

The Therapy Technician supports the Rehabilitation Department by assisting licensed physical and occupational therapists with treatment preparation, equipment setup, and patient support. This role plays an important part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality therapy services while maintaining a professional and organized therapy environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparation and setup for physical and occupational therapy treatments
  • Support residents during therapy sessions by transporting, transferring, or positioning residents as directed
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of therapy areas and equipment
  • Coordinate with therapists to assist in managing daily treatment schedules
  • Communicate professionally with facility staff and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
  • Prepare therapy equipment and monitor supply levels
  • Accurately complete therapy logs, billing documentation, and patient-related forms
  • Ensure timely submission of documentation to the billing office
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and educational sessions as required
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Follow all safety protocols, including infection control procedures and proper use of assistive devices
  • Participate in community wellness, exercise, and educational programs as assigned
  • Represent the rehabilitation department in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • CNA license preferred
  • Prior experience in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with therapy and nursing staff
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and quality of care
Additional Information
  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities
  • Must adhere to facility dress code and maintain a professional appearance
  • Must be able to safely lift, move, and assist residents and equipment as required
