Description:

Ardurra is seeking a Sr. Project Manager - Master Planning and Hydraulic Modeling & Analysis to join our team ideally in Newport Beach, CA., but could be based out of any of our California offices.

Primary Function:

The Senior Project Manager will assist with planning, directing, and overseeing projects within Ardurra’s West Region. Working closely with the Team Leader, the Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for supporting business development, proposal development, project management, and oversight of group personnel and resources. Leadership opportunities include helping to build our local group, providing exceptional client service, and advising, mentoring, and supporting the development of other engineers.

Project responsibilities include applying management expertise to drive project delivery, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget requirements; delivering technical expertise to support the development of effective solutions and verify that technical and quality standards align with client expectations and industry requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background and proven skills in master planning and hydraulic analyses to support highly technical staff on water / wastewater / recycled water planning projects. Strong leadership, project and people management capabilities, and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are also essential for success in this role.

Primary Duties:

  • Plan, schedule, and track milestones, tasks, and activities.
  • Support development and run hydraulic models and document results in reports or technical memoranda.
  • Perform research and analytical tasks related for water, recycled water, and wastewater masterplans, urban water management plans, asset management plans, water supply assessments, risk assessments, flow monitoring reports, etc.
  • Attend meetings to discuss project progress and results.
  • Actively managing assigned projects and/or tasks.
  • Assist with business development activities including proposal development.
  • Archive final deliverable documents – reports, models, and associated tools.
  • Experienced with all aspects of public project delivery for water/wastewater/ recycled water.
  • Experienced in application of water pumping stations and sewer lift stations in hydraulic analyses.
  • Strong understanding of how conveyance infrastructure such as pipelines, flow control facilities, turnouts, pressure‑reducing stations, metering stations, and related facilities affect system hydraulics and modeling outcomes.
  • Ability to evaluate how these components influence pressures, headloss, flow distribution, and operational performance within complex water, wastewater, and recycled water systems.
  • Experience and ability to integrate facility-specific characteristics into hydraulic models to support accurate planning, design, and operational decision‑making.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. Equivalent modeling and master planning project experience with another STEM degree will be considered.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in California.
  • 10+ years of related experience in master planning tasks related to but not limited to: developing / confirming water demand factors and demand projections, developing / confirming sewer flow factors and flow projections, performing I/I analysis, business risk calculations, alternative analysis, cost estimations, alternatives scenario analysis, fire flow analysis etc.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling tools such as Autodesk modeling products including but not limited to InfoWater, InfoWater Pro, InfoSWMM, InfoSewer, Aquanuity or other equivalent software. Experience with other modeling tools will be considered.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and integration with Innovyze software.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for use in development of master plans, studies, engineering reports, and related technical documents.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly self-motivated, able to anticipate and initiate subsequent project tasks, working independently or with minimal instruction.
  • Able to work efficiently within a predetermined project budget and schedule.
  • A writing sample of or link to previous work is encouraged.
  • Experience with Asset Management software like InfoAsset Planner is desirable but not required.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $180, 000 to $220, 000.
