Engineering and Installation Technician

Seeking an Engineering & Installation Technician (E& I) Level I to provide direct support to senior technicians and engineers in the field. This is an entry-to-mid-level role ideal for individuals with 13 years of experience in IT, logistics, or network infrastructureparticularly those familiar with structured cabling and wireless networking environments. The Technician I will assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of CAT5e/CAT6 cabling and wireless systems, primarily at Camp Pendleton. Travel up to 20% (CONUS & OCONUS) is expected, and security clearance sponsorship is available. Eligibility to work on secure DoD facilities is mandatory.This role is designed for technicians looking to grow into more senior field roles. The Engineering & Installation Technician I will participate in site surveys, basic configuration, and troubleshooting activities under the supervision of Technician IIs, project leads, or engineers. Attention to detail, safety compliance, and reliable technical support in a customer-facing environment are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with structured cabling installation, labeling, and testing of CAT5e/CAT6 systems under supervision.Support wireless access point installations, cable terminations, and basic configuration.Assist with site surveys by collecting data using approved tools.Aid in mounting and connecting routers, switches, patch panels, and organizing telecom spaces.Perform basic troubleshooting of cabling or wireless connectivity issues.Support maintenance of installation logs, cable maps, and as-built documentation.Represent the company professionally during site visits and assist with customer coordination.Work under direction of senior technicians or leads to meet schedule and quality requirements.Follow all safety standards, PPE requirements, and site-specific and federal regulations.
