Then come and join our global team as Technical Innovation Lead (f/m/d) to enable innovative, AI-powered applications, in the context of image guided interventions using 2D and 3D X-ray imaging techniques.

Choose the best place for your work - Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.

The position is based at Siemensstrasse 1, 91301 Forchheim, Germany.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• You drive innovation projects and manage key technologies that enable our innovation team to support our predevelopment activities.
• You act as a key interface between innovation project leads, software developers, architects, the R& D organization, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• You support innovation projects by providing the expertise and infrastructure needed to generate realistic synthetic 2D image sequences for algorithm development, machine learning, testing, and validation. This includes applying physics-based modelling and simulation approaches. You also serve as a subject matter expert for X-ray image formation.
• In the context of driving innovation projects, you explore, pre-develop, design, and help implement prototypes and manage requirements for new product features or software applications in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Your qualifications and experience:

• You hold a degree in physics, computer science, medical informatics, mathematics, medical physics or a related field.
• You have many years of professional experience, or equivalent research experience gained through a PhD, in the areas of X-ray imaging, computational physics, simulation technologies, or a related technical domain.
• You bring in-depth knowledge of X-ray physics and X-ray image formation using digital X-ray detectors. You also have experience with computational physics and simulation techniques for modelling physical processes accurately and efficiently, including hands-on experience with state-of-the-art Monte Carlo simulation frameworks.
• You have experience with modern software technologies and a solid understanding of software architecture concepts, design patterns, and RESTful services and API design (e.g. OpenAPI, AsyncAPI).
• Experience in medical image processing or in applying physics-based modelling and simulation techniques in this field is an advantage.
• Knowledge of medical imaging technologies, image-guided procedures, or medical device development would be beneficial.

Depending on the experience and qualifications background of the applicant, task enrichment into the area above the general pay scale is possible.
