Department
In RDS R& D Reagent Research & Design - Chemistry Solutions, we set new chemical benchmarks! Based on modern synthetics and analytical methods, we design and develop a wide variety of chemical assay components for Diagnostics and Pharma. Our task is to provide chemical solutions for diagnostic questions within the entire product portfolio.
With our expertise and broad range of methods, we also accompany the whole lifecycle of active diagnostic ingredients.
The Team
The team of nine employees with technical and scientific backgrounds works on organic chemical and biochemical syntheses, especially in the field of internal standards, metal complexes and dye chemistry. We apply an agile and goal-oriented approach to develop high-quality tailor-made molecules for our internal and external customers, but we also don' t forget to have fun at work.
What can you expect in terms of technical tasks and responsibilities?
The focus is on research and development of reagents in the field of organic chemistry
Performing chemical syntheses to provide complex molecular structures, particularly in metal complexes and dyes chemistry as well as their precursors, for test development and early market supply
Production, isolation, purification, characterization, and functional evaluation of chemical or biochemical molecules
Characterization and evaluation of synthesis products using various analytical methods (e.g., NMR, HPLC, MS) and handling complex physico-chemical equipment
Documentation and presentation of your results
Ensuring cross-site communication within an international project team
Compliance with safety and environmental protection regulations as well as conducting work according to quality guidelines
Additional responsibility for general tasks in the department, such as the maintenance and servicing of equipment
This position requires a willingness to work with hazardous substances.
Who you are
You have completed a university degree in chemistry and additionally a PhD in the field of organic chemistry
You are an expert in preparative organic synthesis, in particular in the synthesis of complex organic molecules and as well as in the isolation and purification methods
You have good knowledge of dyes chemistry and their applications
Additional experience in the field of organometallic chemistry is an advantage
You already have experience in the design and production of high-quality substances and bring the necessary creativity and care to the job
You have already taken responsibility for the operation of laboratory equipment such as MPLC, HPLC, or LC-MS.
You have experience in project management.
Communicating in English is already part of your daily routine
The ability to work in a team and reliability are the essential basis of your work
This position is limited to 2 years.
