6164 Roche Diagnostics GmbH is hiring!
Description:
At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections, where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.
In the Cell & Gene Therapy unit of our Pharma Division, we bring innovative viral vector-based therapies from early clinical development to the market to unlock new methods of healing. In our Data & Analytics team, our mission is to derive the best possible value from our diverse data.
As a Bioinformatician & Business Translator (f/m/d), you will take on a key role: You will uncover molecular mechanisms through in-depth analyses and simultaneously act as a strategic translator to lead cross-functional digitalization projects to success. You will be intimately involved in the development and production processes of a gene therapy and embed a data-driven way of working throughout our entire unit.
Your key responsibilities
You will design and implement pipelines for the analysis of high-throughput transcriptomics data (bulk RNA-seq, scRNA-seq), other omics data (metabolomics, proteomics), and process data to answer complex scientific questions.
You will conduct in-depth biological interpretations (e.g., DEA, pathway analyses) and derive actionable recommendations for the project and process optimization strategy.
As an expert in bioinformatics, you will evaluate and implement the latest digital methods and tools and actively share your knowledge within the team.
You will act as a Business Translator by analyzing business processes and translating them into technical designs for the evaluation of complex data structures to automate and optimize workflows.
In close collaboration with scientists, you will identify needs and potential for data analysis and create measurable added value through digital solutions.
You will actively shape the Data & Analytics strategy for the Gene Therapy area and drive the implementation of FAIR data principles.
Who you are:
A completed university degree (M.Sc., preferably Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a comparable field.
At least three years of professional experience in the analysis of omics data (especially bulk RNA-seq, scRNA-seq) and in leading digitalization projects, ideally in a pharmaceutical environment.
Excellent programming skills in R (especially Bioconductor), supplemented by knowledge of Python, SQL, and pipeline management tools (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow).
Outstanding communication skills to act as a " translator" between technical and non-technical teams and to communicate complex issues in an understandable way.
Proven experience in leading digital projects and guiding change management processes.
A proactive and creative mindset with the drive to continuously question, design, and digitalize processes.
Business-fluent English for efficient collaboration in a global environment.
This position is limited to a 2-year term.
Your Application
We make it easier for you: Please upload only your current and meaningful curriculum vitae/resume and your certificate of your highest degree.
