Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Field Medical Advisor (MSL Pipeline) for our affiliate in Hungary.

Overall purpose of the role:

Develop convincing Value Stories in close collaboration with HEMAR, GA or PE& A to ensure early access and timely reimbursement for prioritized launch products/line extensions so that all patients who benefit more from a J& J compound than from alternatives can get them. Discuss the Value Story with external and internal stakeholders and support the reimbursement and launch process internally and externally based on our CREDO. To achieve this goal, get a deep understanding of the science, the local unmet medical need or the local healthcare ecosystem and actively seek debate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders and decision makers.

Depending on time to product launch/successful reimbursement, provide insights and collaborate closely with the product teams (LBT, HUB) to help optimize medical, therapy or brand strategy.

Essential duties and responsabilities:

Stakeholder/External Interactions

  • Seek active scientific debate in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Respond appropriately to unsolicited requests for information and/or data.
  • Meet with relevant key stakeholders, including KOLs and other HCPs on a regular basis through personalized scientific interactions, medical advisory boards, medical educational meetings, scientific conferences, etc.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with HEMAR and/or GA or PE& A for a timely development of the Value Story in support of early access and convincing reimbursement conversations. Provide information on the current situation in Hungary whenever necessary and give expert advice on the next steps based on the feedback from the field.
  • Develop educational presentations/materials and deliver training for HEMAR, GA, PE& A or the business.
  • provide all relevant information from potential investigators on relevant study sites;
  • discuss the status of company studies to identify new opportunities for collaboration with Hungarian investigators and sites;
  • Share actionable insights to support the planning and execution of an impactful launch that serves the principles of our CREDO.
  • Introduce HEMAR colleagues to key stakeholders before launch where necessary to enable a focused exchange supporting the reimbursement discussions.
  • Introduce and hand over KOLs and ongoing activities to the BLT after launch when necessary (knowledge transfer).
  • Work closely with Global Clinical Operations, HUB/ESO Medical Affairs
  • Work closely with the relevant Medical Managers, HEMAR, GA, PE& A, CE& B to develop ideas and concepts supporting the Value Story.
  • Work closely with local Patient Safety, Regulatory and Quality teams to address any questions and handle medical activities related to the compound(s) in scope.
  • Create awareness of all relevant local country specifics and communicate those to respective stakeholders and business partners.
  • Assist line manager with other general medical affairs and medical education projects as appropriate

Therapeutic Area Knowledge

  • The Field Medical Advisor should be able to debate on an equal scientific and clinical level with any expert in his/her field.
  • Regularly conduct literature searches, analyze clinical papers, attend conferences, courses and other such events to be aware of the latest scientific and clinical advances in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Attend courses and industry meetings, read industry publications and discuss therapeutic area with colleagues to keep up to date with developments within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Monitor competitor promotional and scientific activities to understand their ongoing strategies and assess compliance with the Code of Practice.

Compliance

  • Actively engage with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with the necessary Codes of Practice and Laws governing the promotion and sales of medicines in Hungary.
  • Review and approve materials submitted for copy approval as per the locally agreed process in iMedical Review (iMR).

Essential Knowledge and skills:

  • University / master' s degree or equivalent in medical or other life sciences (MD), pharmacology graduates with research experience/doctorates preferred
  • Plus 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry / preferably Medical Affairs/RND or a comparable position
  • Native local speaker (Hungarian) and fluent English knowledge of both spoken and written
  • Field experience is preferred
  • Driving license type B
