Job DescriptionAccounting- Oversee all financial operations for Finisar Germany GmbH legal entity, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely reporting
- Actively participate in the monthly financial close process, which includes preparing financial schedules, reconciliation and analysis
- Ensuring the close process is conducted in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with local (HGB) and US GAAP
- Review and approve account reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with the corporate's guidelines
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Provide support to both internal and external auditors
- Collaboration with Corporate and consultants to manage and ensure the Corporate and Local Tax filings are completed timely
- Handle tax inquiries as needed
- Participate in the inventory costing process which includes the standard cost and labor & overhead rate update
Budgeting, Forecasting and Analysis- Responsible for the budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities for related business units contained within the Finisar Germany GmbH (the "BUs")
- Support the BUs in the development of long-range strategic plans and provides leadership in the preparation of long-range financial plans
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting for the BUs on key financial metrics with appropriate analysis
- Provide financial analysis and support as needed to BU management for new product introduction, cost reductions and operational efficiency initiatives etc.
- Identify opportunities and works closely with management to improve the profitability of the BUs, including opportunities for revenue/margin growth, cost and expense savings, and process improvements
Leadership- Establish and implement short and long-range accounting department goals supporting Coherent goals and strategies
- Identify improvement to create efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team and accounting processes
- Lead, manage and mentor the Finance team, currently with 4 direct full-time/part-time reports

- Cross-divisional project management
Qualification- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
- Relevant accounting and management experience preferably within an international, matrixed organization
- Tax experience with corporate tax, trade tax, periodic VAT declarations, E-Bilanz, withholding tax declarations
- Oracle and Hyperion experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
- Excellent time management and organizational ability
- Ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to lead the Finance team and navigate dynamic environments
- Good verbal and written communications skills in German and English
