What will you do?The Smart Buildings Division includes a wide-range of hardware and software, creating Smart solutions for end customers when combined together and with other digital products. Products include Smart field devices, meters, edge controls, building operation software, fault detection and diagnostics, and advisor software.
We are seeking a driven salesperson to make a dramatic impact and increase market share of our building automation products in Western Canada. The successful candidate will develop business by promoting our brand and technology portfolio to end customers, co-selling with Partners, and working to specify our solutions to consulting engineers, design firms and end users.
The primary focus of this strategic role includes offices, warehouses/logistics, apartments, retail and chains and public administration buildings.
- Achieve revenue targets for the sale of offers to designate markets, segments and, or Accounts
- Develop strategies and plans to grow sales, to expand into new segments, new accounts and detail how targets will be measured and achieved
- Use our CRM and prepare reports to document your progress finding new opportunities, developing opportunities to specify Schneider solutions and to share information about your activities and the progress of opportunities and accounts under your management
- Call on and develop a relationship with Consulting Engineers, Design Build Teams, Facility Managers, Property Managers and Owners to support and influence specifications, designs and align the conceptualization of future projects with our offerings
- You will not be desk bound and you will spend 80% of your time serving end customers and specifiers (people external to Schneider). You will know the key people at your Accounts, meet with them often and to be sure to help the to identify opportunities to use our technologies before our competitors do
- Be an active member of the Smart building and Proptech communities. Participate in associations and other industry events to elevate your profile and that of Schneider Electric.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?- Degree in business or engineering preferred
- 5+ years of direct business development or technical sales experience
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of building automation technologies
- Customer-centric approach
- Ability to overcome ambiguity, take initiative, and lead without authority
- Field experience related to building automation (asset)
- Worked in service and construction sales positions (asset)
- Willingness and ability to travel 25-30% within Western Canada
What's in it for me?The compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is $96, 800-$145, 200 for candidates who are B.C. residents. Our salary ranges are determined by including roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
