DarkVision is looking for an Accounting Analyst to be based out of our head office in North Vancouver, BC. Reporting to DarkVision's Controller, this role combines core accounting duties with a heavy dose of AI implementation and learning, mixed with full cycle accounting and ownership of special projects that will interest, grow, and challenge you.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth financial and accounting operations while contributing valuable insights to drive business growth. You must be practical, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to the changing business needs of a growing tech company. To succeed in this role, you'll need to be personable and a great communicator, as you will be talking with external vendors as well as various internal teams. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with people!

Our Team

You will be a key part of our growing Finance Team at DarkVision, a fast-growing tech company which is developing new products and entering new markets. As such, the work is fast-paced, interesting, and we promise you'll never have a dull day!

What You Will Do

• Accounts Payable: A/P is one of the key parts of the role, making sure our vendors are paid correctly and on time is crucial to our fast-paced product development timelines. These processes have been automated significantly, but there is still work to do.
• AI Implementation: We love AI - it makes boring, routine work fast and accurate, which frees up your time for value added, interesting work that really matters to the business. You'll have an open remit and full support to implement AI solutions in the processes you own to make things slicker, faster, and more accurate. We want you to grow to be an AI First accounting professional.
• Full Cycle Accounting: This is a core part of the role, and you can be expected to get involved in key parts of the business early in your time at DarkVision. Cash management, payroll, month-end, etc. are all things that you can expect to be involved in early and to take responsibility for quickly.
• Special Projects: You'll be involved in lots of special projects that will test and grow you. Whether analyzing our dispersed software spend, to setting up payroll for a new entity in Saudi Arabia, the business is fast growing and there is an infinite amount of interesting work for you to sink your teeth into.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Education/Experience: As this is an entry level position, so no previous experience is needed to apply. You must have an Accounting or Finance degree.
• Working On-Site: You must be available to work from our North Vancouver office daily.

• General Competence: At DarkVision, there is a very high bar for general all-around competence and the ability to get things done quickly, thoroughly, and effectively without compromising quality.
• Communication: You must be comfortable reaching out and connecting with staff across the organization to succeed. Building excellent working relationships with the team will be meaningful in this role. If you want to sit at your desk all day looking at spreadsheets then this isn't the job for you. You'll be communicating with our teams and vendors often and you'll need to like people.
• Sense of Humor: We work hard but don't take ourselves too seriously.
• Attention to Detail: We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys keeping themselves and the people around them organized.
• Development: A natural curiosity, an eagerness to learn, and being receptive to coaching and constructive feedback is necessary for success in this role.

General Salary Range

For this role, we anticipate a base salary ranging from $55, 000 to $65, 000 per annum. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
