Responsibilities

  • Build and test industrial printing and labeling systems in a clean, modern shop environment.
  • Contribute to system revisions, upgrades, and continuous improvements.
  • Assemble, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation controls.
  • Support the development of new products and custom solutions.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, electrical drawings, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Program, test, and support PLC and automation systems.
  • Maintain accurate project and service documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and sales teams on projects, demonstrations, and customer trials.
  • Train customers and technicians on the safe, effective use of equipment.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with both internal teams and customers.
  • Travel occasionally across North America for equipment installation, service, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Background in automation controls, electrical/mechanical systems, and pneumatics.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel); CAD or electrical drawing skills are an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and the US, sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in industrial mill environments.

Work Environment

  • Travel throughout Canada and the US may be required.
  • Overtime, weekends, and holidays may occasionally be necessary.
  • Work may take place in environments with extreme temperatures and heavy industrial conditions.

The annual salary range for this position is $66, 500 - $91, 400. If you are hired, your base pay rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base pay range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued wage growth.
