POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a wide variety of duties, many of which include outside manual labor and all facets of grounds-keeping operations. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITY: Grounds keeping duties; trash and week control, mowing, trimming, painting, sweeping, digging, raking, planting and custodialOperate light and medium grounds equipment such as utility vehicles, mowers, power rake, rototiller, weed eater, etc.Repair and maintain Irrigation systemsEnsure exterior of campus is properly maintained as well as the landscaping, garbage/trash removal is satisfactory.Attention to detailOther duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Training in one of the several skills such as grounds keeping, pool maintenance, and sprinkler systemsSufficient knowledge of chemicals used or weed control, pesticides and fertilizersBasic knowledge of irrigation system installation and repair.Basic knowledge of seasonal change requirement PHYSICAL DEMAND: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independentlyAbility to walk and stand for long periods of timeAbility to bend and stoopSkilled in prioritizing and working well with frequent interruptionsGood hand and eye coordinationAbility to work outside in various temperatures for long periods of time
